John Richard Doughty Jr.

This is a childhood photo of John Richard Doughty Jr. born 8-29-1929 in Kingsville, Texas.  He worked in the oil business and never had any children of his own. I tracked him down in 2002 only to learn he had passed away within the same year.

His mother was Thelma Walker, a nurse who died in Corpus Christi.

John's nickname was "Dickie".

He had some unclaimed property in Houston. I found out it was a war medal and other documents that had already been destroyed and auctioned off. I promptly called and wrote a letter to the state complaining.

I was probably one of many to raise the issue and now war medals are no longer auctioned off.
